A belt circular conveyor runs a continuous flat or troughed belt along a closed circular or oval track, supported by a rigid steel frame and a series of idler rollers. A head pulley, coupled to an electric motor and gearbox, drives belt movement. A take-up pulley maintains belt tension. Materials load at fixed feed points and discharge at designated chute locations around the circuit. The system operates continuously without reversing direction.

FAQs about Belt Driven Material Handling System

  • My conveyor belt folds at the inner curve edge. What causes this?

       Belt lacks transverse stiffeners. Replace belt with steel cord reinforced type. Stiffeners prevent edge compression.

  • Why does my Belt Circular Conveyor throw products to the outside of curve?

       Belt speed too high for product stability. Reduce speed or add raised outer edge. Maximum speed = square root of radius in meters.

  • Can I use a belt conveyor for hot products at 150°C?

      No. Standard belts melt above 80°C. Use Kevlar belt with silicone cover. Kevlar withstands 200°C continuous.

  • My belt wears faster on drive pulley side. Why?

      Drive pulley lagging worn smooth. Replace lagging with diamond pattern rubber. Diamond pattern grips belt without slip wear.

  • Can I convert a straight belt conveyor to curved?

      No. Straight frames lack curve track geometry. Build new curved frame. Straight conveyor components like pulleys may transfer.

  • What sensor detects belt slip on a conveyor?

       Proximity sensor reading encoder wheel on belt edge. Wheel must contact belt. Optical sensor fails on shiny belt surfaces. Drill belt for metal targets.
