Crossed Roller Slides are compact linear motion devices consisting of a stationary base rail, a moving carriage, and cylindrical rollers arranged in alternating perpendicular axes within a cage. Each roller contacts precision-ground V-shaped raceways machined into both rail and carriage, creating line contact rather than point contact. This crossed orientation enables simultaneous support of radial, counter-radial, and lateral loads, plus moment loads in pitch, roll, and yaw. Rollers are retained by a cage to prevent contact and ensure uniform spacing.
