Parallel cam indexer uses two separate cam inputs. Each cam drives its own output turret. The two outputs run in parallel on the same machine base. Both cams share a common input drive shaft. This design creates two independent indexing sequences. Each output has its own stop count and dwell angle. You can set different cycle times for each side. The cams synchronize through the shared input.

Following this text, we introduce TallMan Robotics PU Parallel Cam Indexer

Features of PU Parallel Cam Indexers are as follows: PU Parallel Cam Indexers are a type of PU parallel conjugate cam mechanism.

The structure of this Parallel Index Drive is simple, mainly composed of two parts: cam and indexing wheel.
Accurate action, with accurate positioning and self-locking in both the dividing and stationary zones, achieving a determined dynamic static ratio and dividing ratio.
Stable transmission: cam curve has good dynamic characteristics, smooth and continuous transmission, low vibration, and low noise.
High output division accuracy: The general output accuracy is ≤± 30 “, and the precision can reach ≤± 15”.

What is the structure PU flat conjugate cam indexer:

The internal piece is fixed on the plate cam of the input shaft and the roller turret output shaft driven by the cam. Parallel Cam Indexers have a mechanism design of parallel conjugate cam, which achieves the function of output shaft indexing by driving the roller turret rotation through the rotation of two plate shaped cams connected to the input shaft. It is most suitable for supplying conveyor belt transmission with larger pitch or for intermittent indexing with longer dwell time. There is also a three piece heavy load type, which is more suitable for some fast and long pitch conveyors, and the dwell time is also longer than that of the two-piece type.

FAQs about Parallel Cam Indexer

What is a parallel cam indexer?

It has two separate output turrets. Both outputs share one input drive. Each output indexes independently. You can set different stop counts for each side. This doubles your production capacity.

How does a parallel cam indexer work?

One input shaft drives two cam mechanisms. Each cam moves its own roller follower set. Each follower set drives a separate output turret. The outputs run in parallel on the same base. Both outputs index simultaneously or sequentially.

What makes parallel cam indexers different from dual output indexers?

Dual output indexers have one turret with two shafts.Parallel cam havs two complete turrets. Each turret has its own cam.You can run different indexing patterns on each side.

Can each output have a different stop count?

Yes, each output can have a different stop count. Left side may have 8 stops. Right side may have 12 stops. The shared input still drives both. Order the stop counts when you buy the unit.

Can each output have a different dwell angle?

Yes, you can order different dwell angles for each output. Left side may have 270 degree dwell. Right side may have 180 degree dwell. The input still drives both. Tell the manufacturer your needs.

Can one output stop while the other runs?

No, the shared input drives both cams continuously. Both outputs move at the same time. They can have different indexes per cycle. But both run without stopping. This suits synchronized dual lane work.

Do parallel cam indexers need two motors?

No, you need only one motor. The single motor drives the shared input shaft. This keeps both outputs synchronized. One motor saves cost. One motor simplifies control.
