140DF Rotary Cam Indexer is tranported to Egypt

What is Rotary Cam Indexer?

What is the difference between DF and DS cam indexer?

In what kind of application scenarios shall DF Cam Indexer can be used?

A client from Egypt has placed an order for a 140DF 10 station Rotary Cam Indexer, the following is our story

26th, Feb,2026:
Client: Happy Holiday and welcome back, I need inedxing 10 Movement
TallMan Robotics: 10 positions?,same model as last one?
Please check PI, boss

4th, March, 2026:
Client: When the Rotary Cam Indexer will be ready?
TallMan Robotics:5 days, boss

Client: Can you accelerate please
I have a shipment will be shipped by March 07
please send me the packing list and the address to send my shipping agent to collect
What is the HS code

TallMan Robotics: HS CODE: 海关编码8483409090

5th,March, 2026:
Client: Any update regarding our order?
TallMan Robotics: tomorrow or the day after tomorrow

6th, March 2026:
Tallman Robotics: hello, boss, today, it shall be ready, but we have to design a plywood box to load it, as it is too heavy

Client: When the Rotary Cam Indexer would be ready?

Tallman Robotics: Plywood box shall be ready tomorrow,

Client: Should i arrange with the shipping company to collect it by tomorrow?
TallMan Robotics: possbile, but it is better to wait for my final confirmaiton with the packing, photos, video of the packing etc

7th, March, 2026:
TallMan Robotics: Rotary Cam Indexer is ready for pickup, please check these photos of finished, and packing with plywood box

Client: My agent contact you?

TallMan Robotics: picked up already

Client: thank you dear
By the way, can you tell me What are the applicable scenarios of DF Rotary Cam Indexer? What are the key differences between DFand DS indexer?

DF Rotary Cam Indexer (flange type cam indexer) and DS Cam indexer(shaft type cam indexer) are two very common precision intermittent transmission mechanisms in industrial automation. Their working principles are the same, but there are essential differences in the structural design of the output end, which determines their different applicable scenarios.

The following are the applicable scenarios of the DF Rotary Cam Indexer and its key differences from the DS Cam Indexer:

1.Applicable scenarios of DF Cam Indexer

The core feature of the DF Cam Indexer is that the output end is a flange structure. This design endows it with extremely strong load-bearing capacity, capable of withstanding large vertical radial and axial pressures.

The main applicable scenarios include:

1. Heavy duty rotary disc machinery: most commonly used for directly driving various types of turntables, workbenches, or indexing discs.
2. Automated assembly/testing equipment: such as multi station automatic assembly machines, automatic inspection machines, riveting machines, and multi station discs in welding equipment.
3. Packaging and filling machinery: Rotary filling machines, sealing machines, etc. for bottled beverages and pharmaceutical industries.
4. Disc processing machinery: various automated intermittent drive equipment that requires precise indexing and positioning. In short, for any scenario where a large disk needs to be directly locked onto the divider for rotation and precise positioning, the DF Rotary Cam Indexer is usually preferred.

2.Key differences between DF and DS Indexers

The main differences between these two indexers are reflected in the physical structure of the output end, the connection transmission method, and the force characteristics.

Comparative PerspectiveDF Rotary Cam Indexer(flange type)DS Rotary Cam Indexer (shaft type)
Output end structureDisc/flange disc. Equipped with flange center, disc screw hole, and locating pin holeCylindrical indexer type (with one shaft extending out). Usually comes with keyways.
Connection methodDirect connection. The working disc, fixture, or turntable is directly bolted onto the flange surface.Indirect connection. It needs to be connected through transmission components such as couplings, gears, sprockets, and synchronous pulleys.
Force and heavy loadDue to the large contact area of the flange, it can withstand very large vertical (axial) pressure and radial loads.Medium to light load characteristics. Due to the bending strength of the indexer, it is not suitable for performing extremely heavy direct vertical pressure and mainly transmits torque.
Transmission pathIndexer/fastening screw /rotating discIndexer/shaft sleeve/gear/chain/actuator (such as conveyor belt)
Typical application equipmentRotary disc equipment, multi station assembly machines, and indexing turntablesChain conveyor belt, gear stepper drive mechanism, intermittent assembly line.

So, in our designing and evaluating cases for a Rotary Cam Indexer, usually, we take these factors into consideration:

If the mechanism you are designing is a “large turntable” that requires the installation of fixtures on the turntable and will have downward pressing actions (such as pressing, marking, and punching), please do not hesitate to choose the DF type (flange type).
If the mechanism you are designing is a “conveyor belt” or requires power transmission to distant places through gears or chains, please choose the DS type (shaft type).
