Single-axis linear robots are robotic systems that primarily move along a single straight line. Single Axis Linear Actuators are often designed for applications that require precise linear motion, making them suitable for handling tasks such as pick and place, assembly, CNC machining, and automation processes.

Technical features of TallMan Robotics Single Axis Linear Robots

A single axis linear robot transforms rotary motor input into constrained linear carriage motion using a ballscrew, belt, or linear motor. The rigid aluminum or steel base houses precision linear guides that maintain straightness and load capacity. Single Axis Linear Robots, or Single axis robot, Single Axis Linear telescopic is also called single axis manipulator, electric sliding table, linear module, single axis driver, single axis robot, etc in China. Today we’d introduce our TMS135 to you.

Types of Linear telescopic Actuator:

Single Axis Linear Modules are generally divided into two types of transmission: ball screw transmission and synchronous belt (synchronous toothed belt) transmission. Both of them are guided by linear guide rails, and can be used in different application fields for positioning, load transfer and handling with servo motors or stepping motors. Linear modules can realize the combination of two axes, three axes and gantry type through different combination styles. Therefore, multi axis robots are also called rectangular coordinate robots.

Application of Single Axis Linear telescopic Actuator

The application field of Single Axis Linear Actuators cover all automation application fields. In the fields of LCD panel, semiconductor, home appliance, automobile, packaging, dispensing machine, welding, cutting, etc., there are extensive use cases in the applications of transfer, transportation, dispensing, welding, cutting, detection, etc.

FAQs about Single Axis Linear Robots

How to Select the Right Model of Linear Module

To choose the correct single-axis robot for your project, follow these steps :
Define the Motion Profile: Is the application horizontal (e.g., sliding a part) or vertical (e.g., lifting a tool)? Load capacity is different for each orientation.
Calculate the Load: Consider the weight of the part plus the fixture or tool (end-effector).
Determine Stroke & Speed: How far and how fast does the load need to move?
Define Accuracy Needs: Do you need high precision (±0.03 mm) or just general positioning (±0.01 mm)? This dictates the drive and grade (Standard, High, Precision) .
Consider the Environment: Will it be used in a cleanroom (medical/semiconductor) or a dusty/messy environment? This affects the sealing and maintenance requirements

What repeatability can a single axis linear robot achieve?
A high quality linear module achieves ±0.003 mm repeatability. Ballscrew driven models provide tighter numbers than belt drives. Linear motor versions reach ±0.001 mm.

What controller works with a linear module?
Any pulse train controller works including PLCs, motion controllers, and indexers. Most common options include TRIO,Delta, Panasonic, and Mitsubishi. The robot accepts step and direction signals.

Can I combine two single axis robots into an XY system?
Yes you combine two single axis robots into an XY gantry system. Mount one robot as the base axis. Mount the second robot perpendicular on top of the first carriage. Add a controller with two channels.

What protection rating do industrial linear robots have?
Industrial linear robots typically carry IP40 to IP65 ratings. IP40 suits clean indoor environments. IP65 seals against dust and low pressure water jets. Metal covers and seals provide protection.
