YZ Gantry Systems Will Be Delivered to South Africa

YZ Gantry Systems from Tallman Robotics will Be Delivered to South Africa.

Today, we got an e-mail from a client as follows:

YZ Gantry Systems

Dear Jack,

I trust that this email finds you well. I got your details from my colleague.

We have a calibration rig for calibration Radiation meters. The radiation meters are typically positioned / moved to 3 different distances from the source. We are currently manually moving the frame on “plastic” brackets into the positions we require. I have attached a video for your reference. Please could you provide me with pricing and option to mount this frame on linear guides with linear bearings and a belt driven linear module that we can connect to a servo motor for positioning.

Secondly, we need a small XY module to mount the instruments on that will enable us to centre the instrument in the beam of the source. Please could you also send us some pricing and options that you might have.

The moment we got this inquiry, we replied as follows:

Dear XXX

Thank you for your information.

In order to have better support and efficient communicaiton, before selecting our models of linear modules for correct solution, our engineers need the following technical details

1. Stroke of each axis

2. Speed of each axis

3. Max payload

4. Positioning repeatability(+-0.01 or +-0.04 ), as this is involved with solution fo belt drive type or screw drive type.

5. Usage environment: general? clean? dust? or waterdrop environment? as this is involved with solution of semi-closed type or fully closed type or waterproof type?

6. Installation: horizontal or vertical?

And then we got technical details from client as follows:

Hi Jack,

Application 1 (X Axis)

1. Stroke of each axis – 3000 mm

2. Speed of each axis – 100 to 200 mm/s

3. Max payload – 25 kg

4. Positioning repeatability(+-0.01 or +-0.04 ), as this is involved with solution fo belt drive type or screw drive type.- +-0.04 mm is more than we need.

5. Usage environment: general? clean? dust? or waterdrop environment? as this is involved with solution of semi-closed type or fully closed type or waterproof type? – Clean, this is in a laboratory.

6. Installation: horizontal or vertical? Horizontal

Application 2 (YZ Axis)

1. Stroke of each axis – 2 x 300 mm

2. Speed of each axis – 50 mm/s

3. Max payload – 1 kg

Horizontaland vertical. This is to position the instrument up and down, and left and right.

Client also took a video for our reference:

Finally, our engineering department select solution as follows:

X Axis:  TMB135-L90S3000-DT400-C2U-LTCM(+10 ratio planetary gear reducer)

Y Axis:TMB100-L90S300-DT400-C2U-LTCM(+10 ratio planetary gear reducer)
Z Axis:TMS62-L05S300-DT400-C2U-NCM-P7

YZ Gantry Systems are advanced, high-performance motion control systems used in various industrial applications, including robotics, semiconductors, 3D printing, and precision manufacturing. These systems offer precision, speed, and versatility in positioning and controlling objects in a wide range of environments. This article will explore the key features and benefits of YZ Gantry Systems.

Firstly, YZ Gantry Systems feature a unique modular design that enables easy customization and flexibility. They can be configured in various sizes, with different travel ranges and payload capacities to accommodate different applications. Additionally, their modular design allows for easy integration with other motion control components, including linear stages, rotary stages, and other gantry systems, to create complex motion-control setups for advanced manufacturing processes.

Secondly, YZ gantry systems are known for their high-speed and accuracy. With advanced control algorithms, these systems can achieve exceptional positional accuracy and repeatability, even at high speeds. They use high-precision linear guides, high-resolution encoders, and advanced motion controllers to achieve these performance levels, making them well suited for precision applications such as microscopy, semiconductor fabrication, and electronics assembly.

Thirdly, YZ Gantry Systems are designed with safety in mind. They feature built-in safety features such as limit switches, emergency stops, and collision detection systems to prevent accidents and damage to the system and objects being handled. Additionally, the system’s modular design allows for easy maintenance and repair, minimizing downtime and increasing system uptime.

Fourthly, YZ Gantry Systems are highly customizable, making them ideal for a wide range of applications. They can be configured with various end-effectors, such as grippers, suction cups, and probes, to handle different objects and materials. Also, they provide the flexibility to accommodate different working environments, such as clean rooms, harsh environments, and vacuum chambers.

Finally, YZ Gantry Systems are easy to use and integrate with other systems. They come with user-friendly software interfaces that allow for easy programming and control, even for non-experts. Additionally, they use standard communication protocols such as TCP/IP, USB, and RS232 to connect with other devices, making them easy to integrate with existing manufacturing systems.

YZ Gantry Systems are advanced motion control systems that offer precision, speed, and safety in various industrial applications. Their modular design, high-speed, and accuracy, safety features, customization options, and ease of use make them ideal for precise manufacturing and automation tasks. Whether it is for semiconductor fabrication, 3D printing, or electronic assembly, YZ Gantry Systems provide the flexibility and performance required to meet the demands of today’s fast-paced industrial applications.

In terms of construction, gantry systems are typically composed of two primary components: a frame that supports the moving components and a payload that is being moved. The frame can be made from a variety of materials, but aluminum and steel are popular choices due to their strength and durability. Payload components can include tooling, manufacturing equipment, and workpieces.

One advantage of gantry systems is that they can be customized to meet the specific needs of a particular application. For example, a gantry system designed for CNC machining may have a higher load capacity than one designed for welding, as the machining.
